Košice Airport has announced the introduction of the summer flight schedule, providing residents of Eastern Slovakia with new and improved connections to the world. Effective from the end of March, the Swiss airline SWISS launched a direct route between Zurich and Košice, currently the only direct air connection between Košice and Switzerland. This new connection opens the door to a wide range of long-haul destinations with easy transfers in Zurich, including cities like Tel Aviv, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Johannesburg, Montreal, New York, Miami, Chicago, Boston, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Additionally, it offers easy access to European metropolises such as Milan, Stockholm, Geneva, Venice, Malaga, and Valencia.
As part of the summer schedule, the frequency of flights on the Košice – Vienna route has been increased to 14 flights per week, ensuring daily connections in the morning and afternoon. You can also look forward to the return of Ryanair’s regular Košice – Dublin route, which will be operated twice weekly from March 31.
This year also features a new seasonal regular route connecting Košice with Croatian Zadar, with the first flight scheduled for June 2. Flights will operate twice a week – every Wednesday and Sunday until September 29.
Popular routes to London (Stansted Airport), Liverpool, and Prague will continue to operate, and Wizz Air maintains its connection with London Luton Airport four times a week.
In the first quarter of 2024, 97,732 passengers passed through the airport’s gates, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.4% and a 15.4% increase compared to 2019 before the pandemic. The largest carriers included Ryanair, Austrian Airlines, and Wizz Air.
For the summer holiday season, more than 900 charter flights to 17 destinations in 11 countries are planned, including Albania (Tirana), Turkey (Antalya, Izmir), Bulgaria (Burgas), Greece (Heraklion, Rhodes, Thessaloniki, Zakynthos, Patras), Croatia (Brač), Montenegro (Podgorica), Egypt (Hurghada, Marsa Matruh), Spain (Palma de Mallorca), Italy (Lamezia Terme), Tunisia (Monastir), and Cyprus (Larnaca).
We hope you take the opportunity to explore the world from Košice.
